Derby Skate Camp

Welcome to Lynnwood Bowl & Skate's derby camp, taught by MOB City coaches with loads of hands on experience! Join us for one of two half day camps to increase your skating skills and learn the basics of junior roller derby.

Intro to Derby camp is for those brand new to roller derby. Some skating experience is requested (campers should be able to make it around the rink unassisted). We will learn derby skating skills such as stops, safe falls, transitions, backwards skating. Start to learn teamwork, blocking strategy, and basic jamming while getting an introduction to the rules and strategies of the game.

Advanced Modified Contact camp is for roller derby players who have completed at least one season of junior roller derby and will focus on positional roller derby (this is not for full contact skaters). We will learn derby skating skills, positional blocking and jamming, and derby strategy.

Each day both camps will include snacks, games, and activities focused on the world of roller derby, ending with a fun-filled scrimmage on the last day of camp! *Camps will be focused on positional blocking and not full contact roller derby.

Mob City Junior Roller Derby formed in 2013 and continues to grow and support youth roller derby in our region. Mob City is an open gender youth league that empowers skaters with confidence, leadership skills, and athletic abilities while improving overall fitness. Mob City provides a place where skaters learn to play roller derby in a framework built around trust, respect, friendship, and athletic competition. Come learn from coaches Bombshell, Adelaide Herout, Harley Quinn, and many other long time derby skaters and Mob City alumni at this awesome camp.
