Intro to Derby
Skate Camp

Half Day - 9am-12pm
$300 (plus tax)
Ages 8-18
Join us for a half day camp to increase your skating skills and learn the basics of junior roller derby with Mob City Junior Roller Derby coaches and our certified instructors. Some skating experience is requested (campers should be able to make it around the rink unassisted). We will learn derby skating skills such as stops, safe falls, transitions, backwards skating. Start to learn teamwork, positional blocking, and basic jamming while getting an introduction to the rules and strategies of the game. Each day will include snacks, games, and activities focused around the world of roller derby, ending with a fun-filled scrimmage on the last day of camp!
Mob City Junior Roller Derby formed in 2013 and continues to grow and support youth roller derby in our region. Mob City is an open gender youth league that empowers skaters with confidence, leadership skills, and athletic abilities while improving overall fitness. Mob City provides a place where skaters learn to play roller derby in a framework built around trust, respect, friendship, and athletic competition. Come learn from coaches Bombshell, Eva Derci, and many other long time derby skaters and Mob City alumni at this awesome camp.
*Camp will be focused on positional blocking and not full contact roller derby.
**Participant will be required to use quad skates only. Inline skates/rollerblades are not allowed for this camp.

Important Information:
Waiver and behavior agreement signed by parent/guardian is required for each camper. ID is checked upon drop off and pick up. Only authorized people will be able to pick up your child. Be sure all people authorized for pick up are listed on registration. Multiple campers must be registered separately. Drop off/pick up will occur at the skating entrance on the south side of the building.
